Jennifer Tee
Local Myths
Eastside Projects
September to November 2010
Eastside Projects has commissioned Jennifer Tee (b. Arnhem, NL, 1973. Lives and works in Amsterdam) to produce the first solo exhibition of her work in the UK. Tee will construct a sculptural setting with allusions to a number of ideologically transformative inner structures, sanctums and theosophical spaces - ostensibly visible but not directly tangible. Tee will be altering the gallery space to accommodate works that lie, stand and hang, reconsidering the materials, walls and floor of the building.
A new artist’s book, designed in collaboration with designers Richard Niessen and James Langdon, will be published during the exhibition, structured as a series of independent printed sections, able to be dispersed, reordered, read and presented in different ways.
