Data Double
Michael Takeo Magruder
26 September to 8 November 2009

Data Double is a mixed-reality installation that acts as a digital mirror enabling viewers to gaze upon a virtual simulacrum of the surrounding physical space. Embodying the aesthetic and conceptual essence of the material environment, while simultaneously disrupting and distorting our perceptions of it, the artwork seeks to facilitate new creative and curatorial possibilities between the reflected worlds, exploring relationships and dialogues between the real and the virtual, the actual and the imagined.

Experience the artwork's physical interface at Eastside Projects as part of Abstract Cabinet Show (26 September to 8 November 2009) and the virtual environment in SecondLife (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Transitional%20Space/). For further information please visit: www.takeo.org

Data Double is an experimental prototype for EP:VV (Eastside Projects: Virtualised and Visualised) - a new space for imagining ideas about Art. EP:VV will develop participation and representation of the gallery's artworks and initiatives.
